The Capital One Venture X Business Card is a charge card earning Capital One miles across all business purchases, led by 10x on hotels and car rentals booked through Capital One Travel. A $300 annual travel credit, 10,000 anniversary miles, and Priority Pass lounge access are included for a $395 annual fee.
What the product is structurally
The Venture X Business is a charge card: there is no preset spending limit, and the full balance must be repaid each statement period. This structure is well-suited to businesses with variable or high monthly expenses that need flexible charge capacity without a fixed credit ceiling.
Capital One miles are transferable to over 15 airline and hotel loyalty programs, including Air Canada Aeroplan, Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles, Avianca LifeMiles, and Wyndham Rewards. Transfer ratios vary by partner and are disclosed in the Capital One Travel portal.
How it works in practice
Earn rates:
- 10x miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel
- 5x miles on flights booked through Capital One Travel
- 2x miles on all other purchases (no category restrictions, no caps)
Card benefits include:
- $300 annual travel credit on Capital One Travel bookings (hotel, flight, or car rental)
- 10,000 anniversary miles credited each year after account birthday
- Unlimited Priority Pass Select lounge membership (cardholder + authorized users)
- Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fee credit
- No foreign transaction fees
- Employee cards at no additional cost
The 10,000 anniversary miles alone carry a cash redemption value of $100 when used for travel purchases.
A welcome offer provides a large miles bonus to new cardholders after meeting a minimum spending requirement in the first months of account opening.
Fees and pricing mechanics
The annual fee is $395. No foreign transaction fees apply.
After the $300 travel credit and 10,000 anniversary miles ($100 travel value), the net annual fee before additional rewards is approximately $0 — making the lounge access, earn rate, and transfer partner access effectively free for cardholders who fully use those benefits.
Capital One miles are redeemable at 1 cent each for travel purchases via the portal, or via transfer partners at potentially higher values depending on the award.
Limits, eligibility, and availability
The Venture X Business is a charge card with no preset spending limit. Capital One assesses the available charge amount dynamically based on the business’s credit profile, spending patterns, and payment history.
Eligibility requires a U.S. business entity and personal credit review by Capital One. The card is available to sole proprietors through incorporated businesses.
Tradeoffs, risks, or limitations
The charge card requirement — all balances due in full each period — is a structural discipline. Cash-flow-constrained businesses that need to carry a balance cannot do so on this card.
The 10x and 5x earn rates apply only to Capital One Travel bookings. Cardholders who book hotels, flights, and rental cars directly with providers earn only 2x. The headline earn rates depend on routing all travel through Capital One’s booking portal.
Compared to the Amex Business Platinum ($695 AF), the Venture X Business has a lower fee and simpler credit structure, but lacks the Centurion Lounge network, the 35% Amex Travel points redemption rebate, and the deeper Amex ecosystem benefits.
