The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards World Elite Mastercard® Business Card earns 3% cash back in four defined spending categories and 1% on all other purchases. It carries no annual fee and targets small businesses with predictable spending across fuel, office supplies, dining, and communication services.
What the product is structurally
The Triple Cash Rewards Business Card is a World Elite Mastercard issued by U.S. Bank on a revolving credit line. Cash back is earned in two tiers: 3% in eligible bonus categories and 1% on all other purchases.
The four bonus categories are: gas stations and EV charging stations, office supply stores, restaurants, and cell phone service providers. These categories cover common business operational expenses.
The card also includes a credit toward certain software subscription services — specifically, up to $100 per year in statement credits for software subscription purchases such as FreshBooks or QuickBooks (terms subject to change).
How it works in practice
Eligible purchases at gas stations and EV charging stations, office supply stores, restaurants, and cell phone service providers earn 3% cash back. All other purchases earn 1%.
Cash back is earned each statement cycle and redeemable as a statement credit, direct deposit to a U.S. Bank account, or as a rewards card. Rewards do not expire while the account is open.
The software subscription credit applies to eligible purchases automatically — no separate enrollment is required. The credit offsets up to $100 per year in qualifying software charges.
The welcome bonus is $750 after spending $6,000 in eligible purchases in the first 180 days of account opening. The 180-day window is longer than the standard 90-day period offered by comparable cards.
Fees and pricing mechanics
There is no annual fee. U.S. Bank charges no foreign transaction fees on this card.
The variable APR applies to unpaid balances. A 0% introductory APR on purchases applies for a defined period; current terms are disclosed at application.
Limits, eligibility, and availability
Eligibility requires a U.S. business entity and a creditworthy personal applicant. U.S. Bank does not publicly disclose a minimum revenue threshold.
The card is available nationally. Neither an existing U.S. Bank business checking account nor a prior relationship with the bank is required to apply.
Tradeoffs, risks, or limitations
The 3% bonus is a defined-category structure rather than universal. Businesses whose expenses fall primarily outside the four bonus categories — such as manufacturing supply purchases or B2B services — will earn the 1% base rate on most transactions.
The card lacks access to transferable airline or hotel points. All rewards are denominated in cash, and redemption is limited to cash-equivalent options. Businesses prioritizing travel reward accumulation would need a different product.
The software subscription credit is useful for businesses already using qualifying accounting software, but it represents a relatively narrow category benefit that may or may not apply to a given business’s toolset.
