The Bank of America Atmos Rewards Business Credit Card is a co-branded Alaska Airlines business credit card issued by Bank of America. It earns Alaska Airlines miles on business purchases and includes the companion fare benefit central to the Alaska Airlines loyalty program.
The card targets small business owners who fly Alaska Airlines and want to accumulate miles through routine operating expenses.
What the product is structurally
The Atmos Rewards Business Card is a Visa Business credit card on a revolving credit line. It earns Alaska Airlines miles — part of the Mileage Plan loyalty program — rather than a proprietary bank rewards currency.
Miles earned on this card deposit directly into the cardholder’s Alaska Mileage Plan account. They combine with miles earned through flights and other Mileage Plan activity.
The card provides the first checked bag free for the cardholder and up to six guests on the same itinerary when flying Alaska Airlines and paying the fare with the card. This benefit applies on Alaska-operated flights.
How it works in practice
The earn structure is: 3x miles on Alaska Airlines purchases, 2x miles at gas stations, EV charging stations, and office supply stores, and 1x miles on all other eligible purchases.
The companion fare is the card’s headline benefit beyond miles. After meeting an annual spend threshold, cardholders receive one companion fare for a companion to fly alongside the cardholder starting from $122 (taxes and fees from $122 + government taxes and fees from $22), as of early 2026. Terms and pricing for the companion fare are subject to change.
Miles are redeemable through the Alaska Mileage Plan for flights on Alaska Airlines and oneworld partner airlines, as well as for upgrades and other travel benefits.
Fees and pricing mechanics
The annual fee is $70. No foreign transaction fees apply.
A welcome offer of Alaska miles is available for new cardholders after meeting a minimum spend threshold. Specific bonus amounts change periodically; current terms are disclosed at application.
The variable APR applies to unpaid balances.
Limits, eligibility, and availability
Eligibility requires a U.S. business and personal guaranty. An existing Bank of America business relationship is not required.
The companion fare benefit is tied to annual card spending requirements. Cardholders must meet this spend threshold each account year to trigger the certificate.
The card is most valuable in markets where Alaska Airlines has significant route coverage, primarily the U.S. West Coast, Hawaii, Mexico, and Canadian routes. Business owners traveling primarily on other U.S. airlines or on international carriers outside the oneworld alliance will find less utility.
Tradeoffs, risks, or limitations
Alaska Mileage Plan miles are a program-specific currency. Their value depends on Alaska’s award chart, which is subject to change. Devaluations of the Mileage Plan program would reduce the effective return on miles earned.
The companion fare pricing structure includes pass-through taxes and fees that vary by route and season. The headline “$122” figure represents the minimum; actual companion fares increase with the taxes and fees on higher-priced routes.
The 3x category is narrowly tied to Alaska Airlines spending. Business owners who do not fly Alaska regularly will accumulate miles primarily through the 2x and 1x categories, making the earn rate comparable to general 2x or 1x business cards — without the Alaska-specific benefits.
