The IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card is a consumer hotel card issued by JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. As of October 16, 2026, Chase lists a $150 annual fee.
The same Chase page places this card between the $0 IHG One Rewards Credit Card and the $350 IHG One Rewards Premier Select Credit Card. An older $99 annual fee and automatic Platinum Elite are not on the current Premier page.
How the Rewards System Works
The Premier card earns IHG One Rewards points. Chase transfers points to the cardmember’s IHG account after each billing cycle.
Earning Rates
Chase’s October 16, 2026 Premier page sets these card earn rates:
- IHG hotels: 10 points per $1 at participating IHG Hotels & Resorts.
- Grocery, gas, and dining: 5 points per $1. Dining includes takeout and eligible delivery.
- Travel through December 31, 2026: 5 points per $1 on travel that posts by that date, excluding IHG hotel purchases that already earn 10 points.
- Travel from January 1, 2027: 5 points per $1 only on airline tickets bought directly from the airline and on car rental agencies. Other travel then earns 3 points per $1.
- Other purchases: 3 points per $1.
Chase markets up to 24 total points per $1 at IHG hotels. That figure adds the card’s 10 points to IHG membership points and Gold Elite bonus points. On most stays, Chase says members earn 10 points per $1 and Gold Elite adds 4 points per $1. Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites use 5 plus 2. IHG Army Hotels use 3 plus 1.2. IHG Residence properties use 2.5 plus 1. Those stay points post to IHG, not to the Chase statement.
Redemption Mechanics
The anniversary free night covers a standard room night and tax at a redemption level of 50,000 points or less. The cardmember can add IHG points above that level. Chase says rooms are limited and may be unavailable in high-demand periods.
Annual Free Night Award
The Anniversary Free Night is available on the account anniversary. That date is 12 months after the account open date, then the same date each 12 months.
Award Parameters
The certificate covers one standard room night and tax at 50,000 points or less. The stay must be completed within 12 months of issue. The cardmember pays incidental charges and mandatory resort fees. The award is not transferable, not redeemable for cash, and not extendable past expiration.
Fourth Night Free Benefit
On a reward-night stay of four or more consecutive nights at the same hotel, every 4th night is free.
How It Works
Chase charges the reward-night point price for the first three nights and 0 points for the 4th night. The rule applies only to reward nights. It does not apply to paid stays or Points & Cash bookings. Checking out before the 4th night forfeits that night. Chase says the benefit can be used on an unlimited number of stays in a year. Resort fees and incidentals are still due.
Automatic Gold Elite Status
Automatic status on this card is Gold Elite for as long as the Premier account stays open and the IHG membership stays in good standing. Chase says to allow 6 to 8 weeks after opening for status to post. Platinum Elite is not the automatic tier on the October 16, 2026 page.
Gold Elite on stays
Chase describes the Gold Elite stay bonus as 40% of base points, which it also describes as up to 4 extra points per $1 on most IHG stays. The lower base rates at Candlewood, Staybridge, Army hotels, and IHG Residence properties use the same 40% idea on a smaller base.
Path to Diamond Elite
Diamond Elite is a spend path, not the automatic tier.
Spending Threshold
After $40,000 in purchases in a calendar year, the primary cardmember qualifies for Diamond Elite for the rest of that year and the following calendar year. The account must stay open and not in default. Chase says only one IHG card account per member is eligible for that Diamond award. Allow up to 8 weeks for status to post.
A separate $15,000 calendar-year spend path qualifies the primary cardmember for Platinum Elite, 5 Elite Night Credits, and 15,000 bonus points. Platinum from that path lasts for the rest of the qualifying year and the following calendar year.
Annual Spending Bonus
The $15,000 calendar-year spend path is the published bonus package on the October 16, 2026 page. It includes Platinum Elite, 5 Elite Night Credits, and 15,000 bonus points. Chase also says the card earns 2 Elite Night Credits for every $5,000 in purchases, with no stated cap, and 15 Elite Night Credits at account opening and again by February 1 each calendar year.
The page does not repeat an older $20,000 spend bonus of 10,000 points plus a $100 statement credit.
Auxiliary Credits and Protections
Food and beverage rewards
The primary cardmember receives one food-and-beverage voucher of up to $25 each calendar quarter, up to $100 a year. Each voucher expires at the end of the quarter that issued it. Unused value is forfeited. Eligible charges are generally food, beverage, and gratuities on the room bill. The page excludes IHG Army Hotels, select Six Senses locations, Iberostar Beachfront Resorts, Royal Resorts by Holiday Inn Club Vacations, and InterContinental Alliance Resorts in Macau.
Airline statement credit
A $100 statement credit posts once per calendar year after at least $250 on flight tickets booked directly with the airline. Chase limits that credit through December 31, 2027.
Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS
One statement credit of up to $120 is available every four years after the application fee for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS is charged to the card. The October 16, 2026 page does not describe this credit as $100 or as an annual credit.
United TravelBank Cash
After registration at the IHG United page, the primary cardmember can receive one $25 United TravelBank deposit on or about January 5 and another on or about July 5. January-to-June deposits expire on July 15 of that year. July-to-December deposits expire on January 15 of the next year.
Chase travel protections named on the page
The October 16, 2026 page names baggage delay insurance up to $100 a day for up to 3 days after a delay of more than 6 hours, lost luggage reimbursement up to $3,000 per covered traveler, purchase protection for 120 days up to $500 per item, and trip cancellation and interruption insurance up to $5,000 per covered traveler and $10,000 per trip. New York residents have tighter lost-luggage and purchase-protection limits on that page. The page does not name cell phone protection.
Financial Structure
Fee Mechanics
- $150 annual fee, as listed on the October 16, 2026 Chase page.
- No foreign transaction fee on purchases outside the United States.
- Variable APR listed as 19.49% to 27.99%.
- Welcome offer on that page: 180,000 bonus points after $3,000 in purchases in the first 3 months, plus 10,000 bonus points after the first authorized user is added in those 3 months.
The new-cardmember bonus on that page is unavailable to current personal IHG cardmembers and to people who received a new personal IHG cardmember bonus in the last 24 months.
A side-by-side of this $150 card with Boundless and World of Hyatt is in Comparing Hotel Cards at $95 and $150.
Tradeoffs, Risks, and Limitations
Free Night Ceiling
The anniversary night stops at 50,000 points unless the cardmember adds points. Chase says the award can be unavailable when allocated rooms are gone.
Status is Gold, then spend
Automatic status is Gold Elite. Platinum Elite requires $15,000 in purchases in a calendar year. Diamond Elite requires $40,000. Closing the account or falling into default can end the earned tier.
Credits expire inside the period
The $25 food-and-beverage voucher expires at the end of its quarter. United TravelBank deposits expire on July 15 or January 15. The $100 airline credit is limited through December 31, 2027, and it requires at least $250 on flights booked directly with the airline.
Travel earn narrows in 2027
Travel purchases that post after December 31, 2026 earn 5 points per dollar only for direct airline tickets and car rentals. Other travel drops to 3 points per dollar. Merchant posting delays can move a 2026 purchase past that date.
Regional and Regulatory Frameworks
This is a U.S. consumer credit card issued by JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., Member FDIC, and subject to credit approval. Points that have not transferred to IHG can be lost if the card account is closed for reasons in the rewards agreement. IHG points that have transferred follow IHG expiration rules, which Chase describes as program activity over 12 consecutive months, depending on status.
Common Misconceptions
“The Premier card still includes automatic Platinum Elite and a $99 annual fee.” As of October 16, 2026, Chase lists a $150 annual fee and automatic Gold Elite. Platinum Elite follows $15,000 in purchases in a calendar year.
“The Fourth Night Free applies to cash bookings.” The benefit applies to reward nights of four or more consecutive nights at the same hotel. It does not apply to paid stays or Points & Cash.
“The anniversary night works at any IHG hotel.” The certificate covers a redemption level of 50,000 points or less unless the cardmember adds points. Rooms can be unavailable in high-demand periods.
“The Global Entry credit renews every year.” Chase describes one statement credit of up to $120 every four years.
