IHG One Rewards Credit Card Review

Chase's no-annual-fee IHG card is now the IHG One Rewards Credit Card. The old Traveler URL redirects to it.

The IHG One Rewards Credit Card is the no-annual-fee consumer card in Chase’s IHG series. As of October 16, 2026, Chase lists a $0 annual fee and a launch offer of 125,000 bonus points after $2,000 in purchases in the first 3 months.

Chase previously marketed a no-annual-fee card as the IHG One Rewards Traveler Credit Card. On October 16, 2026, the Traveler product URL redirected to this card. The $150 IHG One Rewards Premier and the $350 IHG One Rewards Premier Select are the fee-bearing consumer cards.

How the Rewards System Works

Points earned on the card transfer to the cardmember’s IHG One Rewards account. Chase’s October 16, 2026 page sets the card rates below.

Earning Categories

  • IHG Hotels & Resorts: 5 points per $1. Chase markets up to 17 total points per $1 on stays: 5 from the card, up to 10 from IHG membership, and up to 2 from Silver Elite.
  • Dining, gas stations, and grocery stores: 3 points per $1. Dining includes takeout and eligible delivery. Grocery stores are a published 3-point category on this page. An older Traveler schedule that put grocery stores in the 2-point group, and that paid 3 points on utilities and select streaming, is not the schedule on this page.
  • Other purchases: 2 points per $1.

Adding the first authorized user in the first 3 months adds 10,000 bonus points, once. The new-cardmember offer is unavailable to someone who already has a personal IHG card or who received a personal IHG new-cardmember bonus in the last 24 months. Chase says that limit does not apply to business cards.

Redemption Mechanics

The page does not include an anniversary free-night certificate. Reward nights use IHG’s point prices. The cardmember pays resort fees and incidental charges on award stays.

The Fourth Night Free Benefit

Starting in 2027, $5,000 in purchases in a calendar year unlocks a 4th reward night free on a consecutive four-night points stay.

How it Works

Chase says the unlocked benefit lasts for the rest of the year the cardmember qualifies and the following calendar year. The October 16, 2026 page does not describe the 4th night as an automatic feature of merely holding the card, and it does not repeat the older Traveler line that the benefit had no spend minimum. It does not apply to paid stays. The no-annual-fee hotel card comparison records the same spend gate.

Automatic Silver Elite Status

Silver Elite lasts while the account remains an IHG One Rewards Credit Card account.

Silver Elite Tiers

Chase describes Silver Elite on stays as up to 2 extra points per $1, which is the 20% bonus on a 10-point member base at most hotels. The page also adds 5 Elite Night Credits at account opening and at the start of each calendar year. Those credits count toward the next status tier and toward Milestone Rewards.

Silver Elite is the entry elite tier. The page does not list complimentary breakfast or a lounge as a Silver benefit of this card.

Annual Spending Bonus and Status Path

Two spend lines are on the October 16, 2026 page. They replace the older Traveler thresholds of $10,000 for 10,000 points and $20,000 for Gold.

Bonus Point Threshold

The primary cardmember earns 10,000 bonus points after $15,000 in purchases in a calendar year.

Path to Gold Elite

Purchases totaling $15,000 or more in a calendar year qualify the primary cardmember for Gold Elite through December 31 of the following year. Chase labels that Gold path as enhanced relative to the prior offer.

Points purchases paid with this card receive a discount Chase describes as at least 30%. The discount cannot be combined with another points-purchase offer. Point purchases are managed by Points.com and are non-elite-qualifying.

Travel and Purchase Protections

Chase’s October 16, 2026 page names these protections:

Coverage Summary

  • Baggage delay: Up to $100 a day for up to 3 days for essentials when baggage is delayed more than 6 hours.
  • Lost luggage: Up to $3,000 per covered traveler. New York residents are additionally limited to $2,000 per bag and $10,000 for all covered travelers per trip.
  • Purchase protection: 120 days against damage or theft, up to $500 per item. For New York residents the coverage period is 90 days.
  • Trip cancellation and interruption: Up to $5,000 per covered traveler and $10,000 per trip for prepaid, non-refundable expenses in covered situations.

The page does not list a separate trip-delay meal-and-lodging benefit.

Costs and Financial Mechanics

Fee Structure

  • $0 annual fee on the October 16, 2026 Chase page.
  • No foreign transaction fee on purchases outside the United States.
  • Variable APR listed as 19.49% to 27.99%.

Interest applies if a balance is carried. The rewards page does not waive interest because the annual fee is $0.

Intended User Profile

The card is the $0 annual-fee IHG product. It posts Silver Elite, 5 elite night credits a year, and 5 points per dollar at IHG hotels without a yearly fee. The 4th-night benefit, Gold Elite, and the 10,000-point bonus each require calendar-year spend.

Tradeoffs, Risks, and Limitations

The 4th night is gated

From 2027, the 4th reward night requires $5,000 in purchases in a calendar year. It then lasts for the rest of that year and the next calendar year. It is not the unconditional every-stay benefit described on older Traveler pages.

Hotel earn is 5 points, not 10

This card pays 5 points per dollar at IHG hotels. The Premier card pays 10, and Premier Select pays 12. This card also has no anniversary free night. Those two certificates sit on the fee-bearing cards.

Grocery moved; some old 3-point categories did not

Grocery stores earn 3 points per dollar on the current page. The page does not list utilities, phone, internet, cable, or streaming as 3-point categories.

Welcome offers move

The 125,000-point offer is the figure on the October 16, 2026 page after $2,000 in three months. Chase says offers vary by channel and can change.

Regional and Regulatory Frameworks

This is a U.S. consumer credit card issued by JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., Member FDIC, and subject to credit approval. The product page uses Mastercard trademarks. IHG One Rewards membership is required for points to land in the loyalty account.

Common Misconceptions

“The card is still called the Traveler card, with the old earn table.” The Traveler URL redirects to the IHG One Rewards Credit Card. The live page lists 3 points per dollar at grocery stores and does not list the older utility and streaming 3-point group.

“The card includes a free night every year.” This card does not include an anniversary free night. That certificate is on the Premier, Premier Select, and IHG business cards, which have annual fees.

“The Fourth Night Free applies to every award stay with no spend minimum.” Starting in 2027, Chase ties the benefit to $5,000 in purchases in a calendar year. It applies to a consecutive four-night reward stay, not to a paid stay.

“Gold Elite still requires $20,000.” The October 16, 2026 page sets Gold Elite at $15,000 in purchases in a calendar year, through December 31 of the following year.
