The Capital One Spark Cash Select Card is a no-annual-fee business credit card that earns 1.5% cash back on all eligible purchases. It occupies the tier between the basic no-annual-fee flat earners and the $95-annual-fee Spark Cash Card.
Capital One issues it on the Visa Business network and pairs it with a $750 cash bonus for new cardholders who meet the initial spending threshold.
What the product is structurally
Structurally, the Spark Cash Select is a revolving credit card earning cash back at a flat rate. In addition to the 1.5% base rate, it earns 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel — the same elevated rate offered on the fee-bearing Spark Cash Card.
Cash rewards have no expiration and are redeemable in multiple ways: as a statement credit, a check, or direct deposit. Employee cards are available at no additional cost.
How it works in practice
All eligible purchases earn 1.5% cash back. There are no bonus categories, no enrollment requirements, and no cap on the 1.5% rate. The 5% rate on Capital One Travel hotel and car rental bookings applies when using Capital One’s travel portal specifically.
The card earns cash rather than miles or points. This simplifies the reward structure — earned value is fixed in dollar terms and does not require transfer partner optimization.
The welcome bonus is $750 cash back after spending $6,000 in purchases within the first three months of account opening, as of early 2026. This represents a relatively high threshold for a no-annual-fee card and targets businesses with meaningful early spending activity.
Fees and pricing mechanics
There is no annual fee. No foreign transaction fees apply. The ongoing variable APR applies to unpaid balances.
Cash rewards accumulate on each statement and are applied to the account’s rewards balance. The $750 welcome bonus, if earned, is treated as cash back redemption upon qualifying.
Limits, eligibility, and availability
Eligibility requires a U.S. business entity and a personal credit evaluation by Capital One. The application process does not disclose specific minimum revenue requirements.
The Spark Cash Select is positioned for businesses that are building credit or have spending profiles that don’t justify a card with an annual fee. Capital One also offers a separate Spark Cash Select for Good Credit variant, which may have different terms and is evaluated differently.
Employee cards are available at no cost and accumulate cash back to the primary account.
Tradeoffs, risks, or limitations
The 1.5% base rate is lower than the 2% available on no-annual-fee cards like the Wells Fargo Signify Business Cash Card or the Amex Blue Business Cash Card (within its cap). The $750 welcome bonus partially compensates for this in the first year, but the ongoing earn rate is structurally lower.
The 5% Capital One Travel rate adds value only for businesses whose hotel and car rental bookings route through Capital One’s portal. Companies with preferred vendor contracts or corporate travel management tools may not be able to capture this rate.
The card earns only cash, not transferable miles. Businesses with an interest in airline award redemptions may prefer the Spark Miles Select variant, which earns 1.5x miles under the same fee structure.
