Chase World of Hyatt Business Card Review

Chase World of Hyatt Business Card earns 9x at Hyatt properties, 2x on gym, transit, dining, and utilities, with a $199 annual fee and Discoverist status.

The Chase World of Hyatt Business Credit Card is a co-branded hotel business credit card that earns World of Hyatt points at Hyatt properties and on common business spending categories. It carries a $199 annual fee and provides Discoverist status in the World of Hyatt loyalty program.

What the product is structurally

The World of Hyatt Business Card is a Visa Business credit card on a revolving credit line issued by Chase. Points deposit into the cardholder’s World of Hyatt account and combine with points earned through hotel stays and other Hyatt activity.

The earn structure is: 9x total points at Hyatt properties (4x base + 5x from Hyatt Discoverist status), 2x on fitness clubs and gym memberships, local transit and commuting, dining, and utilities across U.S. businesses, and 1x on all other purchases.

Discoverist status is included with card holding and provides perks such as late checkout, premium internet, and 10% bonus points on qualifying Hyatt stays.

How it works in practice

Hotel stays at properties within the World of Hyatt portfolio — which includes Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Andaz, Hyatt Regency, Alila, Thompson Hotels, Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, and others — earn 9x points per dollar on qualifying charges.

A free night reward valid at Category 1-4 Hyatt properties is available after spending $15,000 in the first six months of account opening as part of the welcome structure. Additional Tier-Qualifying Night bonuses toward World of Hyatt status are earned through defined spending milestones during each account year.

The card also provides a discount credit — up to $100 per year — applicable to Hyatt bookings made through the World of Hyatt program.

The welcome bonus, as of early 2026, is 60,000 World of Hyatt points after spending $5,000 in the first three months.

Fees and pricing mechanics

The annual fee is $199. No foreign transaction fees apply.

The variable APR applies to unpaid balances. Chase’s 5/24 rule applies to this card.

Limits, eligibility, and availability

Eligibility requires a U.S. business and personal credit evaluation with personal guaranty. Chase’s 5/24 rule applies.

Discoverist status is provided through card holding. Advancing to Explorist or Globalist (higher tiers) requires meeting stay-based thresholds through actual Hyatt stays, which the card can accelerate through qualifying night bonuses but cannot achieve through spending alone.

Tradeoffs, risks, or limitations

The card’s value is heavily concentrated in Hyatt hotel spending. Businesses that primarily stay at Marriott, Hilton, IHG, or Hyatt competitors will not earn the 9x rate and will accumulate non-transferable points at 2x or 1x.

World of Hyatt points are widely regarded as among the most valuable hotel points per redemption — Category 1 Hyatt properties cost 3,500 points per night, and high-end properties can provide significant value relative to cash rates. However, this value is only realizable when Hyatt properties are available in relevant destinations.

The $199 annual fee is higher than comparable hotel business cards in the same tier. Businesses that travel infrequently or that don’t stay at Hyatt properties regularly may not accumulate enough points to justify this cost.
